Blue-Eyed Country Soul

Summary

The Duke & The King @ The Chattery, Swansea (Saturday) NAMED after a couple of con-men characters in Huckleberry Finn, Simon Felice and Robert 'Chicken' Burke are one of the most hotly-tipped duos on the current American music scene.Although, why you'd chose to call yourself by another name when you've got one as glorious as Robert 'Chicken' Burke is anyone's guess. If I were called Robert 'Chicken' Burke I would spend my days just walking up and down the pavement outside my flat, introducing myself to strangers just to see their reactions. That aside, the pair's debut album, Nothing Gold Can Stay, is a breezy slice of blue-eyed country soul, a 24- carat nugget of '70s style Laurel Canyon pop that just flows over the listener like the warm Pacific surf.

Their only Welsh gig at this cosy Swansea eatery will be as intimate as you can get without feeling grubby afterwards. Inquiries: 01792 473276 best kids Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late @ Theatr Mwldan, Cardigan (Saturday) AH, that old chestnut!
