Mr Morgan announced on Thursday - two days after his 70th birthday - that he will be stepping down once a new leader is chosen. Welsh Labour has since published a timetable showing the result is due on December 1. Health Minister Edwina Hart and Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney AM Huw Lewis both announced on Friday that they were candidates for the top job. Tomorrow, Mr Jones will make a similar announcement from within his own constituency.
