Friends, family and campaigners in Swansea come together in a vigil for murdered Karim HUNDREDS of mourners gathered in Swansea yesterday to pay their final respects to the Iraqi Kurdish man murdered in a racist attack last week. Friends and family of Kalan Kawa Karim, dressed in black and clutching photographs of the handsome 29-year-old, joined anti racist groups, refugee workers and Swansea locals on the pavement where Kalans life was taken last Monday.

Candles were lit and prayers said at the vigil as between 200 and 300 people, carrying bouquets of flowers, united to lend their support for Swanseas Kurdish community. Victoria Heatley, 24, from Swansea Marina, said: We wanted to pay our respects, he was only 29. Its such a tragedy. Its sad to know it happened here in Swansea.
