n IN January South Wales Police seized pounds 47,000 from a man in Cardiff after he closed a bank account. A probre uncovered suspected property fraud and money laundering involving houses and cars running into several hundred thousand pounds.

n A 28-year-old man from Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, who admitted dealing amphetamine was to lose not only the pounds 1,496 he had on him when he was arrested. A court decided that he should pay up a pounds 30,000 more - representing cash he made through drugs in the previous year.
